Jackson Pollock

Today students learned about Jackson Pollock, a famous American Painter of the early 50s. Jackson Pollock was well known for his unique drip style painting. He was considered to be an action painter. Students enjoyed learning about his art by watching a fun and informative video below.

Following the video, students were excited to create their own Pollock inspired paintings.
How we did it: Students rolled marbles in their favorite acrylic paint colors to create a masterpiece of color and design!

Students were so inspired by their Pollock marble paintings that we continued the art lesson and learned about how color makes us feel by watching this video featuring the artwork of Mark Rothko.

More Mark Rothko inspired activities to follow!
