Now and Then

Today we watched toy and food commercials from the 1950's  and 60's and compared them to things today.

Vintage Mr. Potato Head Commerical

We learned that the original Mr. Potato Head was an actual potato! The Mr. Potato Head cost only $1 or $2.00 back then.

 1950's Kool Aid Commerical

Kool Aid sold for 5¢ in the 1950's.  Kool Aid is still sale today- but we prefer other healthy drinks.

We noticed that commercials in the 1950's were black and white.

The Slinky Toy

Slinkys were popular toys in the 1950's and are still sold today. The Slinky was inducted into the National Toy Hall of Fame in 2000.  We had fun trying to master the "Art of Slinkying."
Students problem solved and had a great time!
